  ASSC 13

The 13th annual meeting of the ASSC will be held at the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Science, Germany from June 5-8, 2009. Michael Pauen (m@pauen.com) and John-Dylan Haynes (haynes@cbs.mpg.de) are the local organizers.


 
 

 

 

ASSC Students The ASSC Students community's aim is to foster greater involvement of graduate students within the Association for the Scientific Study of Consciousness and improve ways in which the ASSC serves the needs of its student members. PURPOSE

ASSC promotes research within cognitive science, neuroscience, philosophy, and other relevant disciplines in the sciences and humanities, directed toward understanding the nature, function, and underlying mechanisms of consciousness.


FUNCTIONS

  • co-ordinating annual conferences on aspects of the scientific study of consciousness
  • co-ordinating with journals (the society will begin publishing the open access journal Psyche in late 2007)
  • promotion of other activities in the field (smaller conferences, mailing lists, bibliographic resource, etc.)
  • facilitate consciousness research with awards for new investigators
